About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic Project Management team in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive project schedules for some of the Kingdom's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

You will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and stakeholders to provide accurate planning insights, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Leveraging your expertise in advanced scheduling tools like Primavera P6, you will play a critical role in optimizing resource allocation, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize project timelines.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless schedule integration.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including progress curves, critical path analyses, and resource histograms, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and client-specific standards, such as ARAMCO and SABIC requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential schedule impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cost control teams to align schedules with project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Facilitate regular planning meetings to review progress, address issues, and update stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of digital construction tools and methodologies, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), to enhance planning accuracy.
  • Train junior planning staff and contribute to the development of best practices within the planning function.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and regulatory requirements for KSA-based projects.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Experience with resource loading, cost loading, and progress measurement systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience with mega-projects or giga-projects in the GCC region.
  • Knowledge of BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit or Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with green building standards like LEED or Mostadam.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
  • Primarily office-based, with regular site visits requiring the use of PPE.
  • Exposure to construction site environments, including outdoor conditions and variable climates.
  • Standard working hours, with flexibility required to meet project deadlines.
