About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Project - Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Project Management team in Riyadh. As a key contributor to some of the Kingdom’s most ambitious infrastructure and construction projects, you will oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is integral to the success of BEC Arabia’s projects, which align with Saudi Vision 2030’s transformative goals.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and contractors, to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve technical reviews, on-site inspections, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Review: Develop, review, and approve mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and international standards.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor the installation and performance of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all mechanical works comply with Saudi labor laws, GOSI requirements, and Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration standards.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and approve mechanical equipment vendors and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and ARAMCO-approved standards.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets related to mechanical systems, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in mechanical designs or installations and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings for mechanical systems.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Integrate green building standards such as LEED and Mostadam into mechanical system designs when applicable.
  • Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders regarding mechanical engineering aspects.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Certifications: Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Primavera P6.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ARAMCO-approved standards.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with GOSI requirements and Saudi labor laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management.
  • Certification in LEED AP, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
  • Experience with mega-projects or government initiatives such as NEOM or Red Sea Global.
  • Proficiency in advanced simulation tools like ANSYS or CFD software.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Riyadh, with frequent visits to construction sites.
  • Office and site-based work environment, requiring the use of PPE on-site.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of the Riyadh region.
  • Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Regional travel may be required to oversee multiple project sites.
