About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Procurement - Low Current Engineer to join our Procurement team in Riyadh. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful sourcing, evaluation, and procurement of low current systems, including but not limited to fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and building management systems, for some of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As part of our team, you will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to deliver cost-effective and high-quality solutions that align with project specifications and timelines.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement lifecycle for low current systems, from vendor selection and contract negotiation to delivery and quality assurance. You will leverage your technical expertise to evaluate supplier proposals, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to the successful execution of projects under Saudi Vision 2030. Key Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies for low current systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgets.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with vendors to secure the best value for BEC Arabia.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and procurement timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and reports.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to inspect and approve delivered materials and systems.
- Support the implementation of digital procurement tools and systems to enhance efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or engineering roles focused on low current systems.
- Strong knowledge of low current systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and BMS.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ARAMCO standards.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (CIPS) or equivalent.
- Experience with mega-projects in the GCC region.
- Knowledge of green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
- Proficiency in BIM tools for procurement coordination.
Working Conditions
- Office-based role in Riyadh with occasional site visits to project locations.
- Standard working hours with flexibility for project demands.
- Travel may be required within Saudi Arabia to meet with suppliers or inspect materials.
- Exposure to construction site environments during site visits; appropriate PPE will be provided.
