About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled GL-Team Leader to join our Finance Department in Riyadh. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial records, which underpin the success of our large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. As a GL-Team Leader, you will oversee the general ledger team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in alignment with Saudi regulatory requirements and international accounting standards.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, and senior leadership, to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making. You will also play a key role in streamlining processes, implementing best practices, and supporting the financial aspects of BEC Arabia’s participation in Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the general ledger team in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Saudi regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely submission to senior management.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with Saudi GOSI and tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements and other local labor laws impacting financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with project teams to track and report on project-specific financial performance, including cost allocations and revenue recognition.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial reporting and general ledger management.
  • Train and mentor junior accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi-specific financial regulations, including GOSI and Zakat.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and audit coordination.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA).
  • Experience in the construction or engineering industry, particularly with project-based accounting.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Vision 2030 projects and their financial implications.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance in the GCC region.
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives in finance, such as automation or AI-driven analytics.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Work Environment: Office-based with occasional visits to project sites.
  • Travel: Minimal travel within the Kingdom may be required.
  • Hours: Standard working hours with occasional extended hours during reporting deadlines.
