About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Quality & Safety Department in Riyadh. This role is critical to ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and BEC Arabia's commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure. As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and monitor quality and safety protocols across a variety of high-profile projects, including commercial buildings, smart cities, and government mega-projects.

In this role, you will oversee the implementation of quality assurance and safety management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ISO 9001, and ISO 45001. You will also play a key role in conducting site inspections, preparing detailed reports, and coordinating with project managers to address quality and safety concerns proactively. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-specific quality and safety plans in alignment with BEC Arabia's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential quality and safety issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to enforce quality and safety protocols.
  • Prepare detailed quality and safety reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action plans.
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety training sessions to promote a culture of safety among site personnel.
  • Ensure all project documentation, including inspection records and test results, is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to verify that materials and equipment meet specified quality standards.
  • Review and approve method statements and risk assessments submitted by contractors.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence of safety issues.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in quality and safety management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality and safety roles within the construction industry.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit or Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of green building standards like LEED or Mostadam.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Riyadh, with frequent visits to construction sites.
  • Combination of office and field work, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of the region.
  • Standard work hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Regional travel may be required to oversee multiple project sites.
