About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking highly skilled QS - Electrical Engineers to join our dynamic Construction team in Riyadh. As a pivotal member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate estimation, cost control, and management of electrical systems across some of the Kingdom's most iconic construction and infrastructure projects. This role is integral to supporting BEC Arabia's commitment to delivering world-class engineering solutions while adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, design engineers, and procurement specialists, to provide precise quantity surveying services for electrical installations. Your day-to-day activities will involve preparing cost estimates, reviewing technical drawings, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine accurate quantities and scope of work for electrical installations.
- Monitor and control project budgets, identifying cost variances and implementing corrective actions to maintain financial performance.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to verify the accuracy of quantities and adherence to project specifications.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and cost forecasts to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements for electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve technical and financial challenges, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring fair pricing and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives, including energy-efficient and green building practices, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
- Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, including cost data, invoices, and change orders.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying for electrical systems within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant electrical standards.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Familiarity with GOSI requirements and compliance with Saudi Labor Law.
- Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certification in MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent.
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or other large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
- Knowledge of green building standards such as LEED, Estidama, or Mostadam.
- Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools for quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
Working Conditions
- Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across the Kingdom.
- Primarily office-based, with regular site visits requiring PPE compliance.
- Exposure to construction site environments, including outdoor conditions and varying temperatures.
- Standard work hours, with potential for extended hours during project deadlines.
