About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking an experienced QA/QC - Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Construction team in Riyadh. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across our diverse portfolio of projects, which include commercial buildings, residential mega-projects, industrial facilities, and government giga-projects. As a key player in our quality assurance and control processes, you will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and clients to uphold BEC Arabia's reputation for excellence.
In this role, you will oversee quality management systems, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ISO standards, and client-specific requirements such as ARAMCO and SABIC standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of projects that align with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program. Day-to-day, you will lead QA/QC activities on-site, develop and implement quality plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and international standards such as ISO 9001.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs) to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ARAMCO, SABIC, and other client-specific quality standards where applicable.
- Prepare detailed quality reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and root cause analyses for management and client review.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and site staff on QA/QC best practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with third-party testing agencies and laboratories to validate material and workmanship quality.
- Support the implementation of digital construction tools and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for quality management.
- Participate in client and stakeholder meetings to address quality concerns and provide technical expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
- Proven expertise in ISO 9001 quality management systems and compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC).
- Familiarity with ARAMCO and SABIC quality standards.
- Proficiency in quality management tools and software such as Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and testing procedures.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, LEED AP, or Mostadam accreditation.
- Experience with smart city or sustainability-focused projects.
- Knowledge of BIM tools and digital construction platforms.
- Previous experience working on Saudi giga-projects or with Public Investment Fund (PIF) entities.
Working Conditions
- Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across the Kingdom.
- Primarily site-based role, requiring regular interaction with construction teams and subcontractors.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including high temperatures typical of the Saudi climate.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
- Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during project-critical phases.
