About the Role

BEC Arabia, a leader in construction, infrastructure, and engineering across the GCC, is seeking a QA/QC - Mechanical Inspector to join our Engineering Department in Riyadh. This role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance on our diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and government mega-projects. As a QA/QC - Mechanical Inspector, you will ensure that all mechanical systems and installations meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and international standards.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to conduct inspections, verify compliance, and document findings. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting inspections, preparing detailed reports, and liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect mechanical systems, installations, and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and international standards.
  • Monitor construction activities to verify adherence to approved quality plans, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Review and validate mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed QA/QC reports, highlighting any deviations or non-conformances.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) program and GOSI requirements where applicable.
  • Verify that all mechanical works meet ARAMCO, SABIC, and other client-specific standards when required.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to ensure that all mechanical systems comply with OSHA, NEBOSH, and ISO 45001 safety standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Train site personnel on quality standards and best practices to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Support the commissioning and handover process by verifying that mechanical systems are fully operational and compliant.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ARAMCO or SABIC standards is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in QA/QC Mechanical Inspection or equivalent.
  • Experience with LEED, Estidama, or Mostadam green building standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
  • Prior experience on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and other specialized mechanical installations.

Working Conditions

  • Work primarily on construction sites with occasional office-based tasks.
  • Exposure to outdoor environments with varying temperatures typical of Saudi Arabia.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
  • Standard working hours with potential for overtime during critical project phases.
  • Occasional regional travel within the GCC may be required.
