About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled QA/QC - Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic construction team in Makkah. This role is critical to ensuring that all electrical systems and installations meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. As part of our commitment to excellence, you will work on some of the most prestigious projects in the region, contributing to Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's ambitious infrastructure goals.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control processes for electrical works. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting inspections, reviewing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and Saudi Building Code (SBC). Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement QA/QC plans and procedures for electrical systems in compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical installations to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Review and approve electrical design documents, material submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor construction activities to identify and resolve quality issues in real-time, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and contractors to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed QA/QC reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), and track their resolution.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, as well as the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
- Verify that all electrical testing and commissioning activities are performed according to approved procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including inspection records, test results, and certifications.
- Support the training and development of site teams on QA/QC best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that all electrical materials meet quality and project specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction or engineering industry, with a focus on electrical systems.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
- Proven knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing and commissioning processes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with LEED, Estidama, or Mostadam green building standards.
- Advanced knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Previous experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.
- Familiarity with ARAMCO or SABIC standards.
Working Conditions
- Primarily based on construction sites in Makkah, with occasional office-based tasks.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including high temperatures typical of Saudi Arabia.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
- Standard workweek with potential for extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Limited regional travel may be required for project coordination.
