About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a dedicated and experienced QA/QC - Civil Team Leader to join our construction team in Riyadh. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across our diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial buildings, residential mega-projects, and infrastructure developments. As a QA/QC leader, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining BEC Arabia’s reputation for excellence, aligning with international standards and Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives.
You will lead a team of quality professionals, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and site teams to implement robust quality assurance and control processes. From initial planning stages to final project delivery, your expertise will ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, client specifications, and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of QA/QC plans, procedures, and standards for civil engineering projects.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection test plans (ITPs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality control checklists.
- Ensure alignment with sustainability standards such as LEED, Mostadam, and ISO 9001 for green building projects.
- Train and mentor QA/QC team members to enhance their technical skills and understanding of quality processes.
- Collaborate with clients and third-party inspectors to facilitate smooth project handovers and approvals.
- Analyze quality performance data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of digital construction tools, including BIM, to enhance quality management processes.
- Ensure all quality-related activities comply with Saudization (Nitaqat) and GOSI requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Proven expertise in quality management systems, inspection processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ARAMCO standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience with giga-projects or large-scale infrastructure developments.
- Familiarity with BIM tools and digital construction methodologies.
- Advanced certifications such as LEED AP, PMP, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks like Mostadam and Estidama.
Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based role with regular visits to construction sites in Riyadh and surrounding areas.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including high temperatures typical of the Saudi climate.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Potential for regional travel within the GCC for project coordination and inspections.
