About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic construction team in Riyadh. This role is integral to the successful execution of large-scale projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), safety standards, and client specifications.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and project managers, to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for large-scale construction projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of mechanical engineering components.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO 45001, and other relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct detailed technical reviews of mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor on-site installation and testing of mechanical systems, addressing any issues to maintain project progress.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for mechanical systems to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client review.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality materials and equipment within budget constraints.
  • Evaluate and recommend sustainable and energy-efficient mechanical solutions in alignment with green building standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
  • Support the project management team in risk assessment and mitigation related to mechanical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
  • Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration or eligibility.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards such as ASHRAE and NFPA.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with GOSI and Saudization (Nitaqat) compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certification in LEED AP, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or government mega-projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and tools.
  • Previous experience with ARAMCO-approved projects or SABIC standards.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across the Kingdom.
  • Work environment includes both office settings and active construction sites.
  • Regular use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required on-site.
  • Exposure to high temperatures and challenging outdoor conditions during site visits.
  • Standard working hours with potential for extended hours to meet project deadlines.
