Project - Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Construction Department in Riyadh. As a key member of our project team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing complex civil engineering projects across various sectors, including commercial buildings, infrastructure, and government mega-projects. In this role, you will oversee all phases of civil engineering projects, from initial planning and design to execution and completion. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, project managers, and contractors, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will drive innovation, sustainability, and compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and Saudization (Nitaqat) program.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and plans using advanced tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Primavera P6.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control protocols, and regulatory requirements, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Ensure adherence to Saudization (Nitaqat) program and other local labor laws.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to resolve engineering challenges and optimize construction processes.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including technical reports, contracts, and progress updates.
• Implement sustainability practices in line with LEED, Estidama, and Mostadam green building standards.
• Collaborate with the project management team to identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure project success.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, including the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), to ensure all project approvals and certifications are obtained.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other local regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA, NEBOSH, and ISO 45001.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with ARAMCO Approved Vendor or SABIC standards.
• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools and practices.
• Proven track record of working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.
• Expertise in green building certifications such as LEED or Mostadam.

Working Conditions

• Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
• Primarily office-based, with regular site visits requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to construction site environments, including outdoor conditions and varying climates.
• Standard full-time working hours, with flexibility for extended hours during critical project phases.
• Collaborative and fast-paced work environment, requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.
