About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a dedicated Land Surveyor Assistant to join our Construction team in Riyadh. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and precision of our construction and infrastructure projects, which include some of the Kingdom's most iconic developments. As part of a high-performing team, you will work closely with senior surveyors and project engineers to support land measurement, data collection, and site analysis activities.
In this position, you will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge surveying equipment and methodologies, contributing to projects that align with Saudi Vision 2030's transformative goals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve assisting in field surveys, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior surveyors in conducting field surveys, including topographical, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS devices, and levels.
- Collect and record accurate field data for use in project planning and execution.
- Support the preparation of survey reports, drawings, and documentation in compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure all surveying activities adhere to Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with project engineers and construction teams to verify site measurements and layouts.
- Monitor and report on survey progress, identifying any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of surveying instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain organized records of survey data, field notes, and project documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safety-first culture on-site.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest surveying techniques and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in land surveying or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS systems, and levels.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other drafting or mapping software.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under supervision.
- Physical fitness to work in outdoor environments and on construction sites.
- Valid Saudi residency (Iqama) and compliance with GOSI requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Surveying or Geomatics from a recognized institution.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or mega-projects in the GCC region.
- Familiarity with GIS software and advanced surveying tools.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and integration with surveying data.
- Basic understanding of LEED or other green building standards.
Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based role on active construction sites in Riyadh and surrounding areas.
- Exposure to outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions typical of Saudi Arabia.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory at all times on-site.
- Standard working hours with occasional overtime or weekend work based on project needs.
