About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Procurement Department in Riyadh. This role is instrumental in ensuring the successful procurement of electrical systems and components for some of the most prestigious construction and infrastructure projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As part of our commitment to excellence, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, design engineers, and suppliers, to deliver world-class solutions that align with BEC Arabia’s standards and client expectations.

In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process for electrical materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other regulatory requirements. You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials to support our projects, which include smart cities, government mega-projects, and industrial facilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, managing procurement schedules, and leveraging your technical expertise to optimize costs and quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement of electrical systems, materials, and equipment for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate and prequalify suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with ARAMCO standards, ISO 9001, and Saudi Building Code (SBC).
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and site engineers to identify and fulfill project-specific electrical requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements and other regulatory frameworks, including GOSI and SCE registration.
  • Prepare detailed procurement reports and documentation for internal and client review.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability team to source energy-efficient and LEED-compliant electrical materials.
  • Resolve any technical or logistical issues related to electrical procurement in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering and procurement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in procurement for construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Proven knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools such as SAP, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and NEBOSH safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Experience with smart city projects or sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Mostadam, LEED, or Estidama green building standards.
  • Previous experience working with Royal Commission or Saudi Aramco projects.

Working Conditions

  • This position is office-based in Riyadh with occasional site visits to construction locations.
  • Travel within the GCC region may be required to meet with suppliers or project stakeholders.
  • Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required during site visits.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high standards.
