About the Role

tariq ahmed highly skilled QS Team Leader to join our dynamic Project Management department in Riyadh. This role is integral to the successful delivery of our large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As a QS Team Leader, you will oversee and manage all quantity surveying activities, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial efficiency across projects. You will lead a team of quantity surveyors, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the quantity surveying team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines.
  • Manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of bills of quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and contract agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project costs and provide accurate forecasts to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts, variations, and claims with contractors and suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies to minimize project risks and maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align cost management with project objectives.
  • Review and approve payment applications, invoices, and financial statements.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior quantity surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze market trends and procurement strategies to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certification such as MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and cost management software like Candy CCS or CostX.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), GOSI requirements, and Saudization (Nitaqat) compliance.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and other international construction standards.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar large-scale initiatives.
  • Knowledge of LEED, Estidama, or Mostadam sustainability standards.
  • Expertise in dispute resolution and claims management.
  • Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
  • Environment: Primarily office-based with regular site visits to construction environments.
  • PPE: Required during site visits, adhering to BEC Arabia’s safety-first culture.
  • Climate: Work in hot and arid conditions typical of the region during site visits.
  • Schedule: Full-time role with standard working hours; flexibility may be required based on project demands.
